You are not going to die, so what are you doing?

I was recently diagnosed as having high blood pressure. I heard that a simple cure for it might be to drink more water. I had been telling myself for years that I was not drinking enough water, so I figured this was a place for me to start.  However, weeks later I observed that I had barely increased my water intake. What was up with that?  High blood pressure is a serious albeit symptom less condition. Water is available and abundant. Why wasn’t I leaping on this simple remedy?  (The image of Scorpio came to mind as I re-read the above. Not drinking water is allowing your blood to sludge. The underlying reason for this, in the Sun-on- ascendant chart that I use for this process, is Scorpio on the 11th, the house of possibilities. Little water. Little deep-down, we-shall-overcome, sense of possibility.)

Intuition told me that I was operating on an unconscious default mode that death is inevitable and intervention useless. This assumption was causing me to allow my body to be at risk for something that could debilitate  or kill me, a heart attack or stroke. Running alongside this is being wary of the effort to live, doubtful that I could be all that I can be significantly. It was as if this was too much to ask, simply too demanding, requiring me to be on, conscious, instead of unconscious, requiring me to make decisions and choices and to face threshold monsters. I would have to stand and persevere, not melt into, I can’t. What’s the use?  I am too small in the face of life’s demands. I am tired of fighting and trying.

Mind you. This was not overt. I was not in any obvious throes of depression. I was not at some crossroad that I should want to die. Life was not that difficult. Yet I was being careless with my body and my life.

Intuition interrupted this lullaby of slip sliding away. You are not going to die (ever). You might as well live.

This story is an illustration of what we all need to know for this New Moon in Capricorn. Default Capricorn sees ill health as an inevitability, especially as you age. You are going to fall apart, piece by piece. The truth is that the New Moon in Capricorn, gives us the opportunity to substitute a deathless spiritual body for the corruptible body we were born with.

You have an opportunity to live, really live, right now and this comes about by your conscious choices. And those choices may have to contend with inertia and the gravitational pull of the masses. Nobody’s happy who doesn’t make herself happy or let herself be happy, or bend toward the optimistic. Jung says, “I am not what happens to me, I am what I choose to become.”

And here’s more. Marilyn Ferguson says it this way in her book, The Aquarian Conspiracy. “You are not just you. You are a seed, a promise. You are the Conspiracy.”  She explains conspiracy as meaning “to breathe together.”  Aquarius is an air sign and we are mentally alert to the medicine that is in breathing together. Your life, no matter how alien to me, is as important as my life. We are the children of the Sun and Moon and Stars and as such, we are connected to all other lives through the One Life. We learn that this is not an inimical universe. We start to believe in the goodness of life and thereby attract more and more of that goodness as it comes through real human beings who act as our angels and as agents for connection to all that we need. And this allows us to act as angels for others.

What would you do if you didn’t have the escape of death?  How would you live if death were not an option?  Maybe you would not give up in defeat, but surrender your life utterly to that which is above you that will lift you and make your crooked gait straight.

Finish this sentence spontaneously. I would rather die than___________________________.

Beauty is your duty. Yeats said, “Beauty is truth, truth beauty. That is all you know on earth. That is all you need to know.”  Beauty is the Sun, the Son and the Central Ego. Doing beauty might seem like the hard or risky thing. If I give my heart, it shall come to naught. Death is there, in the giving of the heart. So I am going to keep my heart. I am not going to give life all that I have got.

Many are called. Few are ready to choose. But if you are chosen, then what?  If a clear vision comes to your mind’s eye of some small step you can do to make this world a better place, can you act on it?  Can you gather others?  Can you open your mouth and use your voice, or rather let the voice come through you?  If you can see it, you can be it. If you’ve got a picture or an idea or a dream, chances are you are being called. Bless you. Bless us every one.

Shall we gather at the river?  Here it is. Life is eternal. Never were you born and never shall you die. Death is not a luxury that you can afford as a seeker for truth. You can’t lay down and close your eyes and stuff your ears and sit on your hands. You have got to start. You have got to take up your bed and walk.

Choose the path of victory, the path of beauty and truth, and you will find yourself aided in unexpected hours. Be an angel, a strong angel, a true citizen, and you will find yourself lifted on an angel’s wing.
