Great One

New Moon
Solar Eclipse
February 6, 2008
17 Aquarius 44′

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. I believe it to be so. I shall assume that it is so because of the way this age both anchors and directs me. Lately the inner voice tells me that we can formulate the world we desire. It tells me not to think that the task is for someone else who has more power and influence. The inner voice tells me that in effect we command the future by how we see it.

A change is in the air. We are ready. We are gathered, you in your place, I in mine. We connect at the center of the universe—even our furthest extremes connect there. Always has, always will. In a field beyond all wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a city, and in the city there is an upper room. The field is ground zero, 2008, right there were you are. The field is the earth with all its problems and its seen and unseen glories. The city is us. We are the citizens of earth. What we think and say and do matters. What you say, think and do matters. Despite the many buildings in the city, there is one upper room. Simple.

The will-to-good solves problems and puzzles. Attunement to good puts us in a position to oversee our own nature, our own wolf and dog—our own capacity for wildness and artfulness.

Anything that doesn’t solve problems, but creates them or stands helpless in the face of them is off center. Eye, mind, respect, and appreciation is off center. Keep your eye on the prize. The prize is One.

Let your eye be single, so that your body may be filled with light, so that you may have the golden touch. Let your eye be single, in the center, at the top of the Pyramid, the single point at which the sides of the sloping boundary lines converge.

In your well-meaning, you might stumble and fall. You might lose the battle momentarily and be tempted to think that you can’t reach your fellow human beings and you can’t get through. But with your will-to-good, hold on and keep going.

Shiloh. He shall come. She shall come. Your Great One cometh. Without your Great One you shall never be free. (Though in actuality you are never without your Great One.) Always there will be a lion’s den. There will always be a threat that cannot be approached, a wall too high to scale, a power too big to confront, a nuisance that won’t go away—someone or something that won’t let go or give in, won’t play fair or otherwise won’t do the “right” thing.

We can get together in some lowly place and lament the inhospitableness of our climate, and agree that there is nothing to be done. The world shall continue to pull and tear at us until we are used up or tired of living.

Right here, right now is the way we can create a better world. Here is where you might dare to think that we can be the instruments of healing. Dare to take a chance on another or others, knowing that you are really just taking a chance on life, taking a chance so that it may be made real, taking a chance without being afraid of being wrong.

Take a chance on love. Be love. Be good, though you were taught to despise love as weak. Be love. Not so that you will be loved in return, but so that you might feel love working her charm on your being. Be a being of light, a beacon of light. Right there where you are, turn on the light in you. Let love live in you.

Without your very own Great One, you shall say that bad things stalk you, that others are blessed and you are denied.

Where is your Great one? You are your Great One. She is you. He is you. Do you deny your Great One, looking to the left and looking to the right, looking for the day when it all changes because of your achievement, when today is the day? Today is the day. Why wait for your Great One? Enjoy your Great One now.
