Wake Up Everybody

Updated: Jun 6

My Personal Spirit Guides (Tableau by Deborah Singletary)

New Moon | June 6, 2024 | 16 Gemini 18’

Quieting the mind is optimum. How could I even write this when there are six planets in the signs of Gemini whose keywords are, “I think.” Jupiter, Mercury, Sun, Moon and Venus are all in Gemini!  We could experience runaway thinking tinged with fear and anxiety. We could become so tired that we collapse. Holding on to our sanity might seem like too much to ask. One might think fleetingly of suicide so that one can rest in peace. There is so much pressure, noise and tumult.

However, around the edges of our anxiety there is a whispered suggestion that we can be at peace if we let it be. We glimpse a twinkle of optimism. We discern that we can wake up from our nightmares and breathe fresh air.

Universal trauma and drama are instrumental in provoking us to seek peace. We sigh. There must be a better way.

Gently tell the mind to shut up. Urge the mind to be quiet. In stillness a liberating thought might present itself. However, we need not actively seek a thought or an idea. Quiet and stillness will bring us what we need. A thought arising from the quiet stillness will be as clear as a crystal bell.

There is a basin in the mind where words float around on thought and thought on sound and sight. Then there is a depth of thought untouched by words, and deeper still a gulf of formless feelings untouched by thought.

― Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God

When you are present, you are here, now, in the place where one may enter into transcendence and overcome the frets and imagined threats of the world.

This is our wake-up call. Become conscious. Become aware. Let your eyes see and your ears hear that which is of the higher, causal level.

We are the makers of abysmal leaders because we are the interpreters of those leaders. We are the makers of the economy because we are the interpreters of the economy. We are the makers of life because we are the interpreters of life. We when seize upon situations as loathsome and fearful, we might become unwitting collaborators and reinforce the very thing we say is awful. Let those who have the inner ears to hear, hear and heed. Let those who have inner eyes to see, see.

No more backward thinking, time for thinking ahead.*

Practicum

Try respites from thinking, especially if thoughts are anxious. Take a deep breath and hold it in your belly for a bit before releasing it. Do the "presence" check-in. What “problem” do I identify in the now moment? Not a day, or a week, or five minutes from now. Right now. Often you will find the problem you image is not present. So get out of the worry loop.
